Amy Lennox-Bowley 

Founder - Consultant Audiologist

Amy is the founder of Hypatia Specialist Clinics and Hypatia Training, which aims to help improve Hearing and neuro-vestibular care by providing innovative clinics and training for clinicians worldwide. She mentors and assists clinicians from many NHS and private services, CHIME Social Enterprise, Audico, Click Hearing, Peter Byrom Audiology, Inhealth, Arrowe Park NHS Hospital, Dizzy and Vertigo Institute of Los Angeles and Burton-upon-Trent NHS Trust. An independent business owner, her opinion on equipment and devices is often sought from technology manufacturers, and she often makes recommendations that make it to final production.

She is currently researching Visual Vertigo, providing patients with new techniques to help relieve these symptoms, and being involved in a number of multi-centre research projects.  

 

After completing a Bachelor's in Audiology at the University of Manchester in 2009, Amy worked in the NHS until 2011, when she had the opportunity to emigrate to Australia. Here, she completed her Master's equivalence and became Head of Service in Queensland, looking after patients in the public and private sectors.

In 2012, she joined Otometrics as Clinical Lead for Australia. She worked on research and development projects for the ICS Impulse and produced the interpretation guide for Head Impulse. Alongside working for Otometrics she developed the “Vestibular Forum” an online community for multidisciplinary clinicians and regularly hosted vestibular and electrophysiology lectures at La Trobe and Flinders University. She lectures at University of Middllesex, Manchester and Edge Hill University in the U.K.

Amy lives at home with her husband and 10-year-old son and enjoys family activities and adventures at the weekend

Consultant Audiovestibular Physician/Neurotologist and Clinical Lead 

I am a fully accredited Audiovestibular Physician with more than 25 years of combined experience in Otorhinolaryngology and Audiovestibular Medicine. I am a senior consultant and clinical lead for neurotology in a tertiary/quaternary hospital in the United Kingdom with an elaborate academic, administrative and clinical portfolio.

 

My adult practice is in the private sector. I have established a unique and dedicated paediatric vestibular services in the hospital with a dedicated laboratory.

 

I am well published in peer reviewed journals, contributed in text books and have presented extensively at the regional, nationaland international levels as invited lecturer and as faculty.

 

I am an acknowledged global leader in paediatric and adult audiovestibular medicine. I am part of both national and international research projects. I also hold key leadership roles in clinical and academic medicine nationally and internationally and review for 6 highimpact index journals.

 

I have been bestowed with awards and honorary fellowships for outstanding contributions to the field of audiovestibular medicine. My special interests are vestibular medicine, noise-induced hearing loss and ototoxicity.

Ciara has worked for Hypatia Training Ltd. since January 2022 and has helped the business develop over the years. She is the first point of contact for all clinic and training enquiries, helping Mrs Amy Lennox-Bowley organise and manage her day-to-day operations.
